The Scarecrow is both a decorative element and a building of the Housing system. As the latter it is used to claim land to erect a Private Farm. There exist two types of scarecrow "buildings":
- Scarecrow Garden (8x8 meter area claimed and protected)
- Scarecrow Farm (16x16 meter area claimed and protected)
Both can only be placed by player with Patron status. They must be placed in designated Housing Zones, but can be placed both in general housing zones and scarecrow-only housing zones.
